DIY: Building Privacy Screens with The Awesome Orange

Your backyard might be the envy of all your neighbors, but sometimes a person needs a little extra privacy. The reasons for backyard privacy are endless. Maybe you don’t want your neighbors peeking in on your hot-tubbing, or maybe you’ve built a little koi pond for quiet meditation. Whatever your reason, we've got you covered.

Sadie Mae Johns, aka The Awesome Orange, came to us this year with an idea. A client needed some added seclusion in their backyard, so she designed two stylish and sturdy privacy screens. When it came to holding her screens intact, her thoughts naturally turned to our connector products. The Simpson Strong-Tie FB24Z fence brackets, fastened with Strong-Drive SD Connector screws, would create the perfect connection.

The wood screens will provide her client with privacy from an adjacent two-story home while also offering much-needed shade during the hot Arizona summers. Check out her blog post or the below video for step-by-step instructions on how to build these DIY privacy screens for your backyard.
