Pleasanton, California office on Do What You Can Day
Making a Difference, One Kit at a Time
Our branches across the US, including Pleasanton, CA; McKinney, TX; Stockton, CA; Riverside, CA; Columbus, OH; and Gallatin, TN, came together to assemble mentor kits for ACE Mentor Program volunteers. These kits will be instrumental in presentations to high school students interested in pursuing careers in architecture, construction or engineering (ACE).
Our Employees’ Voices
We’re proud of how our team has embraced this yearly event. Here’s what some of our employees have to say about Do What You Can Day and our partnership with ACE Mentorship:
Simpson Strong-Tie Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & Engagement Annie Kao, an ACE Mentor board member, discusses our new partnership with Ace Mentor and her vision for our company’s growing outreach to customers, industry associations and community organizations. The focus is on expanding the talent pipeline for the construction industry through training.
Simpson Strong-Tie Branch Engineering Manager Rachel Holland sat down with Senior Outreach and Social Impact Manager Desiree Aquino to discuss our new partnership with Ace Mentor and the purpose of the kits we built on DWYCD.
Looking Ahead
Do What You Can Day is more than just an annual event — it’s a reflection of our core values and our commitment to making a positive impact in our communities. As we look forward to next year’s event, we continue to take inspiration from the enthusiasm and dedication of our employees and partners.
We extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who participated, to the ACE Mentor Program for their invaluable work, and to all those who continue to embody the spirit of giving back throughout the year.
Remember, in the words of Barclay Simpson, “Look for small ways to give back every day. Help out your neighbor, make time for others, do what you can.”
Together, we can make a difference, one day, one kit, one student at a time.
