Social Impact at the Heart of Simpson Strong-Tie

“Having a heart” isn’t a term we use often when we talk about businesses. As with many other attributes we don’t associate with companies in general, Simpson Strong-Tie is an outlier in this regard. The company definitely has heart, exemplified most in Company Value No. 8 – Give Back.

Combating the Labor Shortage Through Construction Trades Education 

In 2021, Simpson Strong-Tie partnered with Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley (Habitat EBSV) to create the Construction Trades Support program. The program aims to promote the trades as a viable career path for youth and for other individuals who are currently out of the workforce and to create a pipeline for talent to help alleviate the current labor shortage.

Simpson Strong-Tie Build with Habitat for Humanity MidOhio

Marshall Cunningham, Technical Support Representative at our branch in Columbus, Ohio, partnered with Habitat for Humanity MidOhio to coordinate a build week in January 2022 for thirty Simpson Strong-Tie employees. Together Simpson Strong-Tie, Habitat for Humanity MidOhio, and the Osman and Ali family dedicated a week to help build a new home for this wonderful family. Simpson Strong-Tie is renewing its partnership with Habitat for Humanity to continue supporting the housing organization’s efforts to make homes resilient to disasters. This is the 12th consecutive year of the partnership to help more families in need of a decent and affordable place to call home. To date, the manufacturer of structural product solutions has contributed more than $2.75 million toward Habitat’s mission.
