What’s in the WBSK kit? 

The WBSK workbench and shelving hardware kit provides the hardware and fasteners to build a workbench or shelving unit. The kit features the Simpson Strong-Tie Rigid Tie® RTC2Z corner connector, which makes it easier to form strong and durable corner connections with 2×4 lumber using no angle cuts or bolts. Each kit includes (8) Rigid Tie RTC2Z connectors and (100) Simpson Strong-Tie #8 x 1-1/4″ wafer-head screws. 

What tools and materials will I need for building the WBSK? 

To build a workbench shelving unit, you will need to purchase your own lumber, pegboard, and screws for the top rail and pegboard separately. These items are not included in the kit to allow you the ability to custom-fit the unit to the dimensions and uses of your workspace. The tools you will need for this project include a saw, screw gun, #2 Phillips-head bit, tape measure, framing square, and clamps.

How much does the WBSK cost? 

Simpson Strong-Tie does not sell the kits directly. Accordingly, the price will vary by dealer and location. We have a dealer locator that can suggest the Simpson Strong-Tie dealers closest to you.  

How long does it take to build the WBSK? 

With the WBSK kit, a professional-quality project can be completed in just a couple of hours. 

What can you build with the WBSK? 

You can build a workbench, a shelving unit or other projects such as a bar cart where you need strong corner connections. Each kit contains enough RTC2Z connectors to construct one workbench. Two kits are necessary to build a four-shelf shelving unit. 

Is the WBSK customizable? 

The workbench can be built with different lengths of lumber to best suit your needs and space. 

What are the packaged dimensions of this kit? 

The box dimensions are 7.0“ (H) x 9.8“ (W) x 8.5“ (L).
