We are excited to share this DIY project with Sadie Mae John aka The Awesome Orange. Her latest project is a great solution for concealing unsightly pool equipment. Get inspiration from Sadie Mae and learn how to build your very own privacy fence today!
I absolutely love how my privacy fence turned out, and I’m so thankful to have gotten the opportunity to work with Simpson Strong-Tie this past year to upgrade my backyard, including building a floating deck and pool loungers. This fence was another upgrade I was inspired to build after noticing my pool equipment was an eyesore in the backyard.
I started this DIY with a rough design in SketchUp, which gave me a good idea of what I wanted this privacy fence to look like and allowed me to import my dimensions of the fence. I then called 4-1-1 to have my local utility company come out and mark my lines to ensure I didn’t accidentally hit them while digging.
I used 4×4 posts for this project and set the posts using fast-dry concrete, conquered an angled section of fence using Simpson Strong-Tie® LS30 skewable angle connectors, and then lastly installed some modern 2×4 slats using Simpson Strong-Tie APRTR black powder-coated decorative rail connectors.
