“Having a heart” isn’t a term we use often when we talk about businesses. As with many other attributes we don’t associate with companies in general, Simpson Strong-Tie is an outlier in this regard. The company definitely has heart, exemplified most in Company Value No. 8 – Give Back. “We’re all so fortunate. Congratulations to this year’s Barc Simpson Community Hero Award winners. Simpson Strong-Tie has nine company values, with the eighth being Give Back. The award encourages the spirit of giving and gives recognition to our employees for doing valuable work in their communities.
In 2021, Simpson Strong-Tie partnered with Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley (Habitat EBSV) to create the Construction Trades Support program. The program aims to promote the trades as a viable career path for youth and for other individuals who are currently out of the workforce and to create a pipeline for talent to help alleviate the current labor shortage.
Staying true to Barclay's core values, Simpson Strong-Tie gives back to local communities where its employees live and work. One example is our partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Find out how some of our employees felt after participating in a recent Women's Leadership Build.
Marshall Cunningham, Technical Support Representative at our branch in Columbus, Ohio, partnered with Habitat for Humanity MidOhio to coordinate a build week in January 2022 for thirty Simpson Strong-Tie employees. Together Simpson Strong-Tie, Habitat for Humanity MidOhio, and the Osman and Ali family dedicated a week to help build a new home for this wonderful family. With the help of many volunteers (and Simpson Strong-Tie connectors!), this dream home turned into a reality.
When your company is in the business of building safer, stronger structures, you’re sure to have more than a few employees who are handy with a hammer (and a screwdriver and drill). This winter, our Pleasanton engineering department decided to put those design and carpentry skills to the test for the greater good.
Simpson Strong-Tie is renewing its partnership with Habitat for Humanity to continue supporting the housing organization’s efforts to make homes resilient to disasters. This is the 12th consecutive year of the partnership to help more families in need of a decent and affordable place to call home. To date, the manufacturer of structural product solutions has contributed more than $2.75 million toward Habitat’s mission.
